401k Retirement Plan

All employees are eligible to participate in a company-sponsored 401k plan in which employees receive a 100% match of the first 5% of eligible compensation (after 1000 hours and
12 consecutive months of service)

Competitive Salaries

At Larson Texts, salaries are monitored to be competitive with local salaries relative to the Erie Manufacturer and Business Association data and the Social Security annual Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA). In addition, a merit salary increase is available for employees whose performance during the year is deemed to be outstanding.

Profit Sharing Plan

Larson Texts, Inc. believes that employees should share in the profits of the company. Under current policy, a portion of the company’s annual profits is placed into the plan, and each regular full-time and regular part-time employee receives a share of that money. The size of each employee’s share depends, not on salary or position, but on length of service.

Tuition Assistance/Internship Program

Part-time employees who are also undergraduate students are eligible for tuition assistance for their undergraduate coursework, up to a maximum of $5000 per academic year.
Regular full-time employees are eligible for tuition reimbursement for work-related coursework. Larson Texts will reimburse employees for tuition expenses to accredited post-secondary schools, colleges, and universities, up to a maximum of $5000 per year. Regular full-time and part-time employees are eligible for reimbursement for attendance at
work-related seminars, workshops, and classes that expand an employee’s job knowledge. At Larson Texts, student interns are paid an hourly wage.


Family and Medical Leave

Employees who have been employed for one year or more, and have worked at least 1250 hours during the past year, are eligible to take up to twelve weeks of unpaid leave for one or more of the following reasons. Larson Texts will continue to provide health benefits to an employee on FMLA leave under the same terms and conditions applicable to actively working employees

  • The birth of the employee’s child
  • The placement of a child with the employee for adoption or foster care
  • To care for the employee’s spouse, child, or parent who has a serious health condition
  • A serious health condition rendering the employee unable to perform his or her job

Paid Time Off

Regular full-time and part-time employees accrue between 15 and 27 days of Personal Time Off

In addition to the Personal Time Off, regular full-time and regular part-time employees are eligible for the following paid holidays.

  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Christmas Eve Day
  • Independence Day
  • Christmas Day

Regular full-time employees are eligible for up to one week of paid Jury Duty leave in a two-year period.

Regular full-time employees are eligible for up to five days of paid bereavement leave upon a death in the employee’s immediate family.

Christmas Party and Bonus

In addition to the annual Larson Texts Christmas party, each employee receives a holiday bonus. The annual Christmas party features a special version of “Larson Bingo” with prizes ranging from $25 to $500.


Medical Insurance

Health care coverage is provided for regular full-time employees and their dependents. Larson Texts pays a portion of the stated premium for the following coverage.

Life Insurance

All regular full-time employees are provided with life insurance coverage at one and one-half times their salary (maximum $200,000) under a Group Life Insurance Policy.

Leg Cast

Disability Insurance

All regular full-time employees are provided with both short-term and long-term disability insurance. The coverage is for 60% of the employee’s monthly earnings.

COBRA Participation

The federal Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) gives employees and their qualified beneficiaries the opportunity to continue health insurance coverage under Larson Texts’ health plan when qualifying events would normally result in a loss of eligibility.

The home office of Larson Texts in Erie, Pennsylvania, was constructed to be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, including changes made by the ADA Amendments Act of 2008.

Flexible Spending Account

Employees have the ability to set aside and utilize pre-tax money to pay for out-of-pocket medical expenses. Employees also have the ability to pay for dependent care expenses on a tax-free basis.

Once a month, Larson Texts provides a lunch consisting of a vegetable and fruit salad bar for all employees. The salad bar is served in the lunch room from noon to 1:00 p.m.

To encourage physical fitness and heath, Larson Texts will reimburse employees’ membership fees, up to $30 per month, for participation in (but not limited to) the following health programs.
