Enable Javascript

Please make the following change to your browser preferences. If you are unaware of your browser version, look at the About section of the Help menu.

WARNING: Some system administrators have instructed their users to disable JavaScript for security reasons. If this applies to your situation, please contact your system administrator before continuing because the following instructions will enable JavaScript on all sites, including those that pose a security risk. Your administrator can show you how to enable JavaScript on trusted sites, such as LarsonTexts.com, while protecting you from those that are not.

Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5.0 and higher PC:

  1. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
  2. On the Security tab, click on the Internet zone to make sure it is selected.
  3. Click Custom Level to open the Security Settings window.
  4. Scroll down to Active scripting in the list of options and click the Enable button.
  5. Click OK to accept the new settings.
  6. Click Yes on the alert box.
  7. Click OK to close the Internet Options box.
  8. Refresh the browser.

Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5.1x Macintosh:

  1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
  2. Choose Web Content from the Web Browser list.
  3. In the Active Content section, make sure that the Enable Scripting checkbox is checked.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Refresh the browser.

Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5.2x Macintosh:

  1. From the Explorer menu, select Preferences.
  2. Choose Web Content from the Web Browser list.
  3. In the Active Content section, make sure that the Enable Scripting checkbox is checked.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Refresh the browser.

Netscape 6x Macintosh and PC:

  1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
  2. Click Advanced in the Category list.
  3. Check the Enable JavaScript for Navigator checkbox.
  4. Click OK to close the Preferences window.
  5. Refresh the browser.

Netscape 7.0x and higher Macintosh OS 9x and below and PC:

  1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
  2. Click the arrow next to Advanced in the Category list.
  3. Click Scripts & Plugins.
  4. Check the Navigator checkbox under Enable JavaScript for.
  5. Click OK to accept the new settings and leave the Preferences window.
  6. Refresh the browser.

Netscape 7.0x and higher Macintosh OS X:

  1. From the Netscape menu, select Preferences.
  2. Click the arrow next to Advanced in the Category list.
  3. Click Scripts & Plugins.
  4. Check the Navigator checkbox under Enable JavaScript for.
  5. Click OK to accept the new settings and leave the Preferences window.
  6. Refresh the browser.
